Thinking-out-loud

Often, I catch people staring at me as I am walking, not because they are dazzled my beauty but because I am in a habit of talking to myself, which I indulge in on a regular basis. Often loudly. These are just a few of the dialogues that I have with myself...

3rd day of turbulent rains in Mumbai......2nd day of weather induced sabbatical.

The pattern stays the same..Whether you are in school/college/working..
  • Wake up with the alarm, adjust your glasses and stare out of the window to gauge the ferocity of the rain just to get a clear verdict. (hoping that its either raining cats and dogs OR its bright and sunny...I am not a fan of the in-betweens).
  • Meanwhile, the back of the mind is working out the details for 3 different sets of office clothing: for monstrous (shorts and t-shirt with a change in the bag)/heavy (trousers-shirt)/moderate rains (salwar kameez)respectively.
  • Rush out, switch on the T.V to check out what the "sanvad-datas" have to say.
  • Call up the guys at work to check out who is going and who is not, all the while hoping that no one is going just to make you feel less guilty (its past your regular bath-time by now and you are already a little lazy by now).
  • 3 are not going but the boss is + another one. So its 3 vs 1 + boss. But the boss has asked us to take the call and decide.. I take the call (I am not going!!!!!)

Hehehehehehehehehehe...

After 26/7 and the walk through waist-high gutter water, I am not exactly looking out for a rain-soaked adventure on the Mumbai streets. Heard about people going through so much more. The rains in Mumbai were always equivalent with fun, minor diseases, dirty toes and muddy feet and a trifle incovinience. It was the time when you put your best stuff stashed away, got out the clothes that you wanted to dispose, bought yourself a pair of ugly but sturdy shoes, armed yourself with an umbrella..and voila you were ready to march ahead.

But I am scared after that Tuesday ..and I don't want to experience it again. Am sure its not as bad as that day.. but its better to err on the side of caution.

So plan for today...

  • Continuously call that foolhardy brother of mine who has ventured out to Bandra to peel potatoes (He is a trainee at Olive's and I really DO not understand this sudden spurt of dedication).
  • Spend a good 30 mins in applying a hair-pack (castor-oil,olive oil, almond oil and egg) to my dead, mousy and worse, thinning hair.
  • Spend another 60 minutes trying to take it off
  • Catch a movie on T.V. don't mind the inane Jeetendra-Rekha-Sreedevi stuff either. Find them amazingly destressing... tohfa..tohfa..laya..laya :D

Meanwhile hum along...

Dekho baarish ho rahi hai..

Its raining..Its raining..Its raining..

Mera Dil ro raha hai..

My heart is paining..is paining..is paining...

Tere Liye..Tere liye..Tere liye..Tere liye

I love this song.. no seriously ;)
